Kelly entered the fashion industry after training for a marathon and being unable to find a fabulous sports bra with a pocket; she got back from the competition with an insatiable thirst to create the bra of her wildest dreams, literally hitting the ground running and never looking back.
Kelly has become a fitness and fashion expert. Kelly is the founder for the activewear company, BodyRock Sport, which was voted Start Up Fashion Company of the Year by Stiletto Woman in 2012, and after spending nearly a decade in New York City, she recently returned to Southern California. Known as an industry maverick, her invention of Swarovski-encrusted sports bras with pockets and other unique features truly redefined the meaning of fitness, fashion, and function. With cheeky names like "Lock 'em Down," "Zip 'em Up," and "Dim Your Headlights," she has an uncanny ability to come up with game-changing ideas.
Her couture creations have been worn by Hollywood's hottest celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Cole, Giuliana Rancic, Lady Gaga, Becky G, Adrienne Bailon, Adam Lambert, Britney Spears and PINK. Her work has been featured in hundreds of publications, including Forbes, Elle, Health, In Style, The O List, The Wall Street Journal, Elite Daily, Fitness, Self, The New York Post, US Weekly, Perez Hilton, Competitor, The Huffington Post, Oxygen, TimeOut, The Los Angeles Times, DailyCandy and Refinery29.
Kelly's name circulated globally on a viral level when she starred in both Say Yes to the Dress and The Big Day, respectively.
As a motivator, Kelly's perspective spans far beyond the idea of thinking "outside-the-box." As she says, she prefers to "break boxes," constantly pushing her clients to "find voids in the market and fill them by making something better," and to protect their ideas as they would a piece of gold, for thieves only come when the vault is full. As Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth." This mindset culminated with a TEDx Talk in 2013, where she tackled Einstein's quote, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is to never stop questioning." Kelly inspires and empowers others, always emphasizing the importance of defining and sticking with your own USP, encouraging her cult-like followers to be fearlessly unapologetic trendsetters. In an age of utter monotony, it feels liberating to be a true independent, and Kelly fully embraces that notion.
Since her departure from BodyRock Sport, Kelly's vast experience in the fashion world has made her a household name in the world of wardrobe artists in Southern California. Though she is known for active wear, she's equally talented in creating visual masterpieces with couture, fashion and swimwear. Share your vision and she will bring your dream to fruition with laser precision and with the utmost integrity. She is a creative genius who knows how to make a woman glow from the inside out, conducting extensive research for every style client to ensure that, as a team, they can achieve the overarching objective for each and every photo shoot.
She graduated from Boston University with her B.S. in Print Journalism in 2005 and from New York University with her M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication Studies in 2008, which was essentially a millennial marketing program, with an emphasis in social media and luxury consumption. She has studied abroad in Australia, China, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland, and The United Kingdom. She recently completed her certification from Notre Dame University for advanced intercultural management.
She also has her domestic violence certification for the state of California and sits on both the advancement committee and super fun gala committee for Human Options, an Irvine based 501c3 devoted to breaking the cycle of domestic violence, providing those in need with safety, healing, and a way to move forward more empowered than ever.
