"A girl should be like a butterfly. Pretty to see but hard to catch."
I am thrilled about the recent butterfly trend that luxury designers have capitalized on for SS2015, my favorite piece being this Givenchy backpack. Relaxed in soft nylon yet bold in styling, this fierce backpack features a floral butterfly motif in an array of muted hues, all finished with signature Givenchy logo lettering. This piece reminds me of The Sophie Bra from BodyRock Sport's second collection, which came out in September 2010. That bra represented a harmonious balance between feminine and punk, and turned out to be a best seller, worn proudly by ladies ranging from tweens to gorgeous fitness models and senior citizens, being featured in everywhere from SELF to Elle Magazine to Oprah's O List and spotted on Vanessa Hudgens and The Kardashians (Ok, not proud of the Kardashian sighting-just sayin').
The symbolism of butterflies is poignant, representing change, metamorphosis, renewal, playfulness, elevation from early matters, and the world of the soul. That combined with flowers and black leather is surefire way to experience an intense fashion-gasm.
